JP Goforth, a local legend and architect built 1505 Dairyland Road in 1976 and the addition and kitchen renovation was performed by Triple Aught Design Build in 2008. The home was originally owned by a botanist at UNC which is evidenced by the mature trees thoughtfully gracing the property. The spring time yields beautiful blooms from the Soulangiana Magnolia, Kwanzan Cherry Tree, crepe myrtle, azaleas, and many other mature trees (see tree map below). The breath-taking blooms will likely inspire you to want to entertain each spring and host a party in the blooms' honor.
The kitchen was designed as the center and heartbeat of the home. Soft-close drawers, dove-tail construction, wine fridge, and gas range with fume hood were essential to the current owners when they planned their dream kitchen. An over-sized walk-in pantry off of the kitchen keeps the home well-stocked and plenty of room exists for a vegetable garden or two on the property.
Resident or visiting children will thoroughly enjoy exploring in the creek and allowing their imaginations to run wild. Maple View Farm is a short bike ride and area cyclists claim Dairyland as one of their favorite routes. For the cycle enthusiasts, Saxapahaw General Store is a 16 mile ride on gorgeous country roads.
Baker Roofing replaced the membrane roof in 2021 and it has a 25-year transferable warranty to the new home owner. The crawlspaces are sealed and provide great storage potential in lieu of a garage or storage shed (although there is room for those improvements for a new home owner).
The bathrooms recently had quartz counters installed on the original cabinets. We decided to embrace the original design selections JP made in 1976 for the new home owner to enjoy.
