From a very early age, I was given an inside view of what it truly means to be a real estate agent, as I watched my Grandfather work tirelessly to develop and drive his own brokerage. Weekends were often filled with car rides to install yard signs and, no matter the day or time, our family was accustomed to the importance of making and taking phone calls. While other kids my age were watching cartoons, my cousins and I would tune in to the local real estate channel, completely delighted by the houses scrolling across the TV screen. I learned along the way that choosing a career in real estate is not only about helping people to buy and sell houses but is about cultivating meaningful connections that will grow and thrive within the community.

The tremendous global pause of 2020 offered all of us an opportunity to look more deeply at our lives. For me, this time provided an experience of pivotal reevaluation, redirection, and renewal. After spending two extremely rewarding decades as an educator, I decided it was time for me to follow my lifelong love of real estate. And so I did! Pursuing a career as a real estate broker has not only allowed me to continue my dedication to education, but it has bridged an avenue for partnered vision planning, goal achievement, and community service. The invaluable skill set that I developed through my years of teaching has naturally carried over into my career in real estate, as I strive to clearly understand, plan for and place the needs of my clients at the forefront. Just as education at its best is committed to excellence and is personalized for every student, so should each and every client’s home buying/selling experience.
