  • Who We Are
Life isn't always clear about where our paths will lead and the challenges that we will face along the way. Fresh out of high school my intent was to become a psychologist and after attending the University of Florida for a semester and a half, I realized that I wasn't quite ready at 17 to be a Gator.

My oldest sister lived in North Carolina and invited me to live with her in (Little) Washington while I figured out what should come next. Thankfully East Carolina University was one town over and I was attracted to their art department at orientation. In 2002, I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Communication Art with a concentration in Photography. I have thoroughly enjoyed parlaying my experience working with metals, sculpture, printmaking, wood design, ceramics, and photography into knowing just what art will make your family and guests feel comfortable.

We moved back to Florida for a few years and I landed work creating content and managing advertising contracts for an import company. It was a tough working environment and it was in this role that I initially developed my strong negotiation skills. Our time in Florida is also when my fascination with real estate began after buying our first home and then having the same floor plan and model sell for $23k more, 3 months later!

In 2005, my sweetheart was accepted into Duke University's graduate program and we moved to Durham; we soon fell in love with the area’s upbeat, innovative community—oh, and the food! Having worked in a few fabulous restaurants while in college, I became quite the foodie, making Durham a great fit for me. I've frequented many Triangle restaurants with my family, so I am always ready with a long list of recommendations for anyone with an empty stomach (The Boot Room, Foster's Market, and Saltbox, to new a few).

Inspired by our first home purchase, I acquired my real estate license in 2006 and quickly realized this profession merged three of my strengths and interest: helping people solve challenges that fit their needs best, maximizing visual and emotional appeal, and negotiation. Through my 17 years of being licensed in real estate, I have been privileged to work with phenomenal people and have respect and strong professional relationships with all of the various business owners and colleagues that have helped support HeartNC Realty Group, Berkshire Hathaway, and our clients, family, and friends. Helping buyers find a home they will love and assisting sellers to maximize profit on their investment are highlights of the work.

Whether you are considering a purchase, sale of your current home, or both, I appreciate the opportunity to meet with you in person or virtually for a no-obligation consultation. If you are thinking of purchasing or selling in the next year or two, please contact me to schedule a consultation and align timelines. We have a handful of short-term rentals that can be available to ease transitions for clients and are paid the same (at closing) whether we arrive late to the party or are a part of the crew that helps plan and set up.
